A few more from out in the field. My truck gotta little mud..

A few more from out in the field. My truck gotta little muddy. Ok - how can you tell what time an elk has walked a trail? Feel the droppings. If they're steaming warm, he's right there hiding. Little cooler, he was there within the hour, even cooler, maybe he was there that morning. And bone dry, it's an old trail and no longer used But since animals have a routine (just like people), one can then just put whole day together - he beds down over there, then takes this trail to the water hole in the AM, then he meanders looking for cows, then he naps here in the shade in the noonday sun, then he forages here in the afternoon, then he goes back to the watering hole, then he heads back to bed A lot of track hunting is like that - painting the picture and learning the ways of this particular animal. Then, you just intercept him
